Marcos wins the Premier League with Chelsea
Chelsea sealed the Premier League title with a 1-0 away victory at the Hawthorns on Friday night.
The blues entered the game knowing that three points would be enough to become league champions. It was a resolute performance for Tony Pulis’ side but the players stuck to their task for the full 90 minutes with Michy Batshuayi scoring an 82nd minute winner to start the party in the away end.
‘We had the confidence for the 90 minutes’, reflected Marcos. ‘We knew the game was going to be tough like the game at Stamford Bridge but the team had the belief and its time to enjoy it now.’
It was Marcos’ first major honour and he will have an opportunity to add another in two weeks when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup Final.
‘I’m delighted about it and hopefully there’s more to come. We’ll time to keep working and tonight we’ll enjoy it with the lads.’
‘It’s thanks to the work we have been doing all season in training. It’s been amazing and now we see the results.’
