Marcos making good progress
Marcos’ recovery was boosted as he returned to working on grass in his new Puma boots. The Spanish star has been doing extra sessions to get him back fully fit as soon as possible so he is ready and raring to go for the team.
‘It feels good to be back with my boots on and working on grass. I have been keeping my fitness up in the pool and in the gym but it was an important step for me. I’m not sure on a return date yet but I hope to start training with the first team next week.’ Said Alonso.
‘The team have been doing really well and despite the result at Norwich the lads are working really hard preparing for Saturday’s game with Wigan. The Reebok is starting to become a bit of a fortress again and the fans play a big part in that. We really appreciate all their support and hope they will come and cheer us on this weekend and give us the edge.’
‘After that we have a trip to Millwall, it will be tough to go there but the prospect of another run in the cup and getting back to Wembley will spur us on. It’s the oldest cup competition in the world and we are looking forward to that fixture after we play Wigan.’
Wanderers face local rivals Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium this Saturday who currently sit bottom of the table and are four points behind Bolton.
