Marcos hoping for a Super Whites xmas
Marcos and Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jääskeläinen turned on the Christmas lights last Thursday night at the Middlebrook.
They greeted Wanderers fans from across the community before having the honour of switching on the lights for the festive celebration with competition winner Bethany Edgar. Bethany had won a Christmas picture competition ran by charity Reading Help. Five runners up were also invited up to receive their prizes from the Wanderers pair.
‘It was great to meet the competition winners and to turn on the lights with Bethany and Jussi. It was also good to start off the festive celebrations with the fans. They have been superb this season, taking over 70 coaches to West Brom on Saturday is fantastic. We are all working very hard to get the right results for them and we hope we can start pushing up the table.’ Said Marcos who is back fit raring to go.
Marcos was also in action this week playing for a star-studded Wanderers second string side, that included Martin Petrov, Darren Pratley and Tuncay Sanli, against Manchester United’s reserves. Wanderers were beaten 2-1 but Marcos nearly supplied the assist for the equaliser late on when young striker Jack Sampson swiveled in the area but found the side-netting with his finish.
