Marcos back in action
Marcos Alonso returned to training last week and is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from a broken foot. On Tuesday, Marcos completed 70 minutes of action for the reserve side against Blackpool in a behind closed doors friendly with his foot showing no signs of the injury.
‘We are taking it one step at a time, I returned to training at the end of last week and it was great to finally pull on the Bolton shirt again in the friendly today. My foot feels fine and I felt fit in the game so I am very happy!’ Said Marcos.
‘I want to be back playing to help the team move up the Premier League. Hopefully I am not too far off now, it was important to come through that game and get some minutes under my belt.’
‘I’m training with the reserves again on Saturday and hopefully I will get another game with them next week to put me in contention for a place in the squad for the Stoke game.’
Speaking on the Bolton Wanderers website today, Manager Owen Coyle spoke about the young Spaniard:
‘Marcos Alonso played 70 minutes in a behind-closed-doors reserve game against Blackpool, so he’s well on the way to recovery.’
Wanderers are back in action this weekend when they take on Swansea in Wales.
