Christmas cheer at the Bridge
Marcos Alonso sealed a home victory on Boxing Day as Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners over Brighton Hove Albion.
Fellow Spaniard Alvaro Morata broke the deadlock with a header after a cross from Azpilicueta. Marcos Alonso netted his fifth of the season with a set-piece header on the hour, putting the game beyond doubt.
The goals ensured three points and a third league clean sheet in a row for the champions to give some Christmas cheer at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso had twice been denied in a minute after the Brighton keeper had saved his free-kick and then a follow-up header from the resultant corner.
Chelsea play Stoke at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in their last game of 2017.
