Chelsea run extends to 9 wins
Another Chelsea win on Sunday and another clean sheet for Conte’s men sees the side record their ninth successive victory and return to the top of the Premier League.
A 76th minute Diego Costa strike was enough to beat a resilient West Brom side at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are now 3 points clear of Arsenal in top spot after 15 games.
“I think West Brom prepared well defensively and tried to close every space,” reflected Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. “This game, if you find the goal quickly, you can have an easier game. When you don’t find the goal, it becomes more difficult but we were very good to find in the right moment to do it.”
Marcos returns to the club he was loaned to when Chelsea play Sunderland on Wednesday night before making the shorter journey to Crystal Palace at lunch time on Saturday.
