Alonso scores as Chelsea close in on title
Chelsea are now just a win away from the Premier League title after beating Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte’s side won 3-0 with Diego Costa getting the scoring going after 23 minutes, turning in Cesc Fabregas’ cross.
The contest was sealed when Marcos added a second with a goal from an acute angle beat Brad Guzan at the far post 11 minutes before the break. It’s Marcos’ sixth goal of the season for the blues.
Nemanja Matic added a third and are now on the brink of the title.
Marcos Alonso’s stats saw that the wing-back touched the ball twice in his own area and seven times in the Boro area.
Chelsea will win the Premier League if they beat West Brom on Friday.
