Alonso looks ahead to cup final
Alonso has flourished in Antonio Conte’s favoured 3-4-3 formation, it was first implemented for the away at Hull City in early October, when the spaniard made his first Premier League start for the club.
Receiving the Premier League trophy last Sunday was a landmark in the left-backs career and described it as ‘the happiest day of his life’.
‘I’m absolutely buzzing,’ he told ChelseaFC.com, ‘the most important thing was winning the 30 games, we took that very seriously so we’re really happy.’
‘Now the Premier League is done and we have to switch our focus to the FA Cup final against Arsenal on Saturday. We’re looking forward to it and we know we have the players who are capable of winning the game.’
‘It’s my first big trophy, very special. Also, to get 30 wins is a new record as well. We’ve been working hard all year, the manager has done a great job and he’s had every player focused on our objective, which was the title. I’m very happy for him.’
Chelsea play Arsenal tomorrow in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
