Alonso features in cup win!

The 20-year-old Spaniard came off the bench in a 1-0 cup win against Wigan. Marcos replaced the injured Sam Ricketts who was stretchered off with an Achilles injury.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Marcos explained “It all happened a little bit quickly and I was sent out onto the pitch without really warming up. But after five minutes everything was okay and I was very pleased for the victory.

“I didn’t expect the call and obviously I am not happy for Sam because it could be a serious injury. I hope Sam recovers as quickly as possible.

“I might get an opportunity to play more minutes and hopefully I can demonstrate why I am at Bolton Wanderers. The Gaffer is the one who will make that decision but I feel like I am ready to help the team.

“I played two games in the reserves over the last few weeks and I think that I have benefitted from that. I needed games to keep myself match fit and be ready for when I get my chance in the first-team.”
