Alonso through to FA Cup Final
Chelsea overcame title rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to reach the 2017 FA Cup Final at Wembley.
It was Alonso’s second FA Cup semi final appearance having reached the same stage with Bolton, and the final will be Marcos’ second major final appearance after starting in the League Cup Final with Sunderland three years ago.
The game itself started at a frantic pace with Willian giving the blues an early lead before Harry Kane pulled Spurs level. Chelsea were soon ahead again when Willian converted a penalty just before the break but Tottenham again levelled
But with Eden Hazard & Diego Costa introduced to the Chelsea line-up it was the blues who would run away with the game, Hazard giving Chelsea the lead before a stunning strike from Nemanja Matic made it 4-2.
Chelsea will play the winner of today’s game between Manchester City or Arsenal in the final on May 27.
